Apple Watch sport apps
Plan, record and analyze training.
Apple's Workout app records the session and stores its data in Apple Health. My apps add clear trends, structured workouts and suggestions for running and cycling.
The Workout app is the starting point
For most sports, you do not need another recording app first. Apple's Workout app records time, distance, heart rate and other metrics on Apple Watch. The workout history remains available in Fitness and Apple Health.
Apple Health and HealthKit: privacy first
Apple Health is the central store. HealthKit is the interface apps use to access individual data types. You decide whether an app may read workouts, heart rate, HRV or body mass, and you can change that access in iOS at any time.
Health data is encrypted on a locked device. My apps request only the categories required for their specific job.
Analyze Apple Watch workouts and health metrics
VO2 Max shows cardio-fitness trends and performance estimates. Wrist Temperature Tracker turns nightly measurements into trends and cycle comparisons. FTP & W/kg follows cycling power and body-mass data from Apple Health.
Structured workouts with WorkoutKit
WorkoutKit lets training apps prepare structured workouts for Apple's Workout app. Intervals, time or distance goals and alerts for pace, heart rate or power can run in the familiar Apple Watch interface.
Training apps for running, cycling and load
RunWatch creates running plans and structured Apple Watch sessions. Cycling AI analyzes past rides and prepares cycling workouts. Training Load & Recovery puts Apple Effort Score, TRIMP, HRV and resting heart rate into context and can suggest the next session.
When you need a bike computer
Viberide adds maps, GPX navigation, recording and live Bluetooth sensor data. It turns iPhone and Apple Watch into a bike computer and can save the completed ride to Apple Health.
